Oh Mine Papa!

Can you believe it, if my Dad (OPA) were alive on June 6th he would 98 years old. Well, what does that make me? OLDER! Friedrich Wilhelm Haase was born June 6th, 1914. He is my Hero and I love him!

Question

Do I crash and burn or do I take a mental day off work?
Take a day off and relax. Get some RRR.....Stop worrying!
Heavenly Father hears .... the Savior will take our pain and help build us up!
Get courage! Be strong! All I can say to myself is keep going one day at a time.
BELIEVE!!!

Need a more cheerful post!

It is Easter Sunday…
I’m sore and painful, but grateful I could share music today in my ward Sacrament meeting and also in Bryan’s ward Sacrament Meeting.
In our meeting the choir and strings sang and played “I Stand All Amazed” (a Sally DeFord arrangement and I wrote out string parts.)

After the first speaker, Lori Rogers, we performed “I Know That My Redeemer Lives” a Larry Beebe arrangement where I had added string parts many years ago.

Both numbers were beautifully performed and then Mark Rogers spoke and both speakers did a wonderful job.

I was filled with the spirit.
Then later I played with Bryan, Jon Kaitlyn and Connor in their ward “I Know That My Redeemer Lives’ and this time it was just a string and piano number. It was beautiful and I am glad we could all share with the Hooper’s new ward.
Close to the end of their meeting there was a few extra minutes so we all stood and san “I Stand All Amazed” and this time tears came to eyes. Yes I am All amazed that Jesus Christ died for me and all of us so that we can once again live again with Him and our Heavenly Father. Now I, and we all just need to live worthy to be ready some day.

One day I hope to play with all my grandkids and children in a sacrament meeting some special hymn all together. We’re getting better. We actually have Layna and Landon who could play right now too.

HAPPY EASTER…… making a potato casserole ala Funeral potatoes……

OOps I did it again.......

2012 April 7 Journal

Beat and Battered but it really doesn’t show on the outside….

I had a very productive and happy Good Friday and a good Saturday UNTIL 4PM….
I have fallen again, but I finally got up on my feet but not without a prayer.

I was all excited to deliver Leslie’s wonderful cake balls to my Visiting Teaching ladies.
I was juggling the cake balls in little plastic baggies all decorated with ribbon and lying on a plate with a little note attached to take to the car and deliver them...
So not being 100% cautious walking out to my car in the garage I feel my foot get caught on something and I could feel myself being lunged forward again bringing myriads of unpleasant visions of pain and broken bones and torn up body to my head. I fell down basically next to my Jazzy and the cake balls flew forward. The first thing I saw was that the cake balls were still sitting on the plate almost untouched. Thank goodness they were carefully wrapped. But I was stuck! I couldn’t move. My bad knee hit hard and it hurt something fierce. My good knee was cocked funny but I was basically down on all four but really lopsided. My bad foot got knocked into the jazzy and then I finally saw I was bleeding pretty heavy from my left pinky finger. I couldn’t move. Lots of pain and not just from place in my body. Do I yell for Lucy, who probably wouldn’t hear me anyway, because the TV was on in the front room? Again, I couldn’t move and I couldn’t think. I landed in a way that I had no leverage. I sat there in panic mode, so now what do I do. I’m hurt and I cannot help myself! I realized there was only one person who could help me right away…. So I prayed, “Help me get up” Help me find a way to get up.” I repeated that a few times and then my head cleared. It was as if I that panic and shock mode lifted and I could think a bit clearer. I checked to see if I had broken my wrist, but I don’t think so. The raised my arm and it seemed ok too. So thinking I had two arms I then tried to raise myself up with the big green garbage can, (which I have in the garage because it was so full of branches that Landon filled and so I don’t have to bring it out from the back yard through the rocks for garbage day Monday. Last time I left it out on Sunday I got a notice!) But trying to raise myself straight up like that was too high and basically impossible. I finally got the feeling to turn and look the other way and I realized I needed to turn my body into the direction of the Jazzy. I scooted toward the seat of the Jazzy and brought myself around and pulled myself up with my strong arm, just like I do when I get up off the floor. Finally I accomplished it and I got up. Went back in the house cleaned off my bloody finger and hand and put a band aid on the finger and checked myself for any other abrasions but just found a minor one on my elbow.
I finally checked the cake balls and they were fine and as if nothing even happened, so I went out and delivered them to the people that were home.

Got home and this evening I still feel pain in my knee, foot, hips and back, elbow, arm and finger, but it seems if all the damage is inside. Finally took a Tylenol and I hope it works. Going to bed. I got to feel good for Easter! It will be a full day.

I finally realized what I tripped over was the long stick I taped onto the handle of the duster for the fans in the house. I remember hearing it fall in the garage today, but didn’t bother to pick it up. So when I backed in my Jazzy it wedged right at the edge of the step and my foot got caught on that with my shoe and the rest is history.. Maybe I need to clean that area of the garage again. Having the green can in there is too much and it will be gone by Sunday night
I am grateful that my prayer was answered with a calm feeling that I could again think and listen to feelings of survival. No, this wasn’t death threatening situation, but it was scary considering all the damage I have already done to this body with falls.

I have a Gratitude Attitude tonight for sure!
