Working on an "Olympic Spirit" Musical and Power Point for 2nd Grade

"Follow the Rainbow" and find a pot of Gold... that's how the music goes from MusicK8. Here is a picture from a power point I am working on called "Weather" something Musical for 1st Grade.

(My Paraphrase of a Mama Goose Nursery Rhyme that I'm working on with Kindergarten Children. They are saying it normal though and also 10 other rhymes... totally fun! Actually they are singing the rhymes)

Bryan and some men from my ward taking out a tree in my side yard that was way too messy. It has opened up so much light but hope to replace it with a respectable tree

January has proven to be fantastically busy. So busy that I stay up way too late at night working on power points to help the kids learn the words tot he songs. Especially since they are Kindergarten through 2nd grade. most are 5-7 years old.

I have watched some crazy weather go through here through our valley this past week, but I just marvel at what nature has to offer. Now my ist graders understand a little more what weather is all about.

I have seen along with the whole world the devastation of Haiti from the large earth quake. The 2nd grade students' musical is about the "Olympic Spirit" and one song we are singing is called, "You Can Help" from Music K8 publishing. The song talks about how everyone can help in times of need for someone else, i.e. earthquake, flood, fire, drought, hurricane, disease, plague, war, etc. During the singing earlier this week at the end of the song one little second grade boy was crying and said, "That is so sad!" That actually was not the first time the song and power point has created that reaction. We have had many discussions on how these little folks can help and you know at Christmas time our school collected thousands of dollars of cans to help "Someone". We never know what the little amounts we offer can do when all are collected together and give help.

I am still frustrated over my financial situation but trying to find connections for help. BUT, I am still OK, but it is slowly getting worse! Hopefully there is some help there somewhere for little old me ... I am trying to find a way with some help from people that should know what they are doing.

My calling at church has changed a bit, but I still lead the ward choir and I am going to teach a Family history class every Sunday starting in February. The Family History class will need more preparation I feel. I will have to study and ask others how they taught the class.

Today I went to a special baptism of a sister from another ward who has been attending church for years and finally has decided to take the plunge. It was a very spiritual meeting and I was glad to have been there to sub for one of the string players.

I am so glad I belong to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
I am glad a have a wonderful family!
I am glad I have many good friends.
I am glad I am alive. Sometimes the pain is not nice, but...
I am trying hard every day to FIND JOY in the JOURNEY!!
